VWMA Code of Conduct

This code of ethics is intended to guide the behaviour of members of the Victorian Waste Management Association in a manner that is consistent with the Association’s mission of promoting responsible waste management practices. Members should strive to uphold these principles in all their activities and interactions, and hold each other accountable for adhering to these standards.

 

Code of Conduct

All VWMA Members commit to a code of conduct. This code commits members to;

Professionalism: Members of the Victorian Waste Management Association will uphold high standards of professionalism and ethical behaviour in all their activities.

Compliance with Laws and Regulations: Members of the Victorian Waste Management Association will comply with all applicable laws and regulations related to waste management, environmental protection, workplace safety, and public health.

Environmental Stewardship: Members of the Victorian Waste Management Association will promote environmental stewardship by minimising the impact of waste on the environment and pursuing sustainable waste management practices.

Health and Safety: Members of the Victorian Waste Management Association will prioritise the health and safety of their employees, customers, and the public by implementing effective safety policies and procedures, providing appropriate training and equipment, and promoting a culture of safety.

Respect for People: Members of the Victorian Waste Management Association will treat their employees, customers, and the public with respect and dignity, and will not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, or any other factor.

Transparency and Accountability: Members of the Victorian Waste Management Association will maintain transparent and accountable business practices by accurately reporting their waste management activities, complying with regulatory requirements for record-keeping, and responding promptly to any concerns or complaints from the public.

Continuous Improvement: Members of the Victorian Waste Management Association will continuously improve their waste management practices by adopting new technologies and best practices, engaging in research and development, and sharing their knowledge and expertise with others in the industry.

Community Engagement: Members of the Victorian Waste Management Association will engage with the communities in which they operate by promoting public awareness and education about waste management issues, supporting local environmental initiatives, and contributing to the economic and social development of the community.
