VWMA and Waste Expo Australia Dinner: Container Deposit Schemes
Description
The Victorian Waste Management Association (VWMA) would like to invite you to a special dinner event on Container Deposit Schemes or CDS.
This is event is open to anyone; VWMA members receive a discount.
This year, Waste Expo Australia will feature a networking event (5:30pm to 6:30pm) which will be followed by a special evening event hosted by the VWMA and sponsored by MRA Consulting and RSM Group featuring special guest speaker Peter Bruce.
Peter oversaw the introduction of CDS in NSW as CEO of Exchange for Change, the Scheme Coordinator for the NSW and ACT roll out.
CDS have been introduced in most Australian jurisdictions, with Victoria being the only state without a scheme in place. Generally CDS is established to reduce littering and increasing recycling.
With the oldest over 40 years old (South Australia) and the newest launching next year (Western Australia) the State by State approach has created a varied landscape around regulations, governmence and cash flow.
The VWMA, supported by our sponsors, have created an evening that is of relevance to anyone in the waste and recycling industry, local government, state government and environmental organisations that will bring together experts to present on the state by state roll out of CDS and key take aways that Victoria must consider regarding the introduction of any CDS.
All attendees will receive a special info pack on CDS and highlights of the presentations.
The dinner event will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and include a scrumptious dinner and drinks, opportunities for QnA, networking as well as a few surprises.
We look forward to seeing you there.
