This EPA approved 1 day course is for drivers who transport Prescribed Industrial Waste within the State of Victoria.
The training has been updated to incorporate the Environment Protection (Industrial Waste Resource) Regulations 2009 which came into effect 1 July 2009.
While a DG license is not required in Victoria to transport wastes that are also classified as dangerous goods, , it is considered best practice by the VWMA for drivers to also have undertaken dangerous goods training.
In 2010 as a result of the new Australian Dangerous Goods Code 7, a separate two day training course for Dangerous Goods needs to be completed to obtain a DG license. Bookings for both courses will be able to be made through the VWMA. Note both courses can be booked on the one form.
General Information
The EPA PIW course costs $250 for members or $280 non members. All training material and lunches are provided. Costs include gst.
The Dangerous Goods course run over two days costs $330 for VTA/VWMA members and $350 for non members.
Courses start at 8.00am sharp - 4.00pm. No latecomers can be admitted after 8.15am.
Note: Traffic on the freeways can be very heavy prior to 8.00am so leave sufficient time to arrive by 8.00am. Under our policy, latecomers will forfeit their training fees if they are turned away late.
A reminder notice is sent out approximately 5 days before training with a map to get to Wirraway Drive, Fishermans Bend.
The VWMA is sensitive to cases where there is genuine hardship and drivers are unable to attend on their nominated day through illness , however the office must be immediately notified on 9646 8590 or EMAIL RECEPTION . Course fees will be credited to the next available course. Non attendance/Non notification will forfeit fees and course will have to be rebooked.
Please contact the Executive Officer, VWMA on 9646 8590 to discuss your training needs for your drivers.
To arrange a booking download the form below.
On site training can also be organised - minimum 6 people. Please contact the office
